Okay boys and girls... I want everyone to start testing goodies on the forum and let's shake out all the problems here... Jurgen says he's having problems seeing smilies. They're working for me however.
This temporary installation is hosted on Blue Host, residing on the NDLMRA website space. If we're going to keep this thing alive I would like to host it here permanently. Cause and reason being... Bluehost is is absolutely way firkin cool as far as what they provide you for minimal montly fee! The package is outstanding, the tools in the C-Panel are endless!!
Let's shake things out here and see what we need to set all of the options at to try and make this thing work like it's supposed too before we go live.
Goodies like... attaching pictures and seeing them!

At least this server resolves that one for all apparently! Try posting one on your end, and lets see if it works for you here, since you were having problems with your smileys.

One other thing I noticed Billy was that the picture no longer attempts download and open in my default graphics viewer, it is opening on the server in separate browser window.

I like that I can see the pics and the smilies......... question, how do you use the  tags? Do you have to upload the image to the forum first, and if so, do most forums allow this? |

If the amin(s) think Blue Host is the place to host this site, then I would agree with them. It seems everyone has their opinion on which is best, and why it is best, but I think the admins need to set it up where they are comfortable having it located. They know what is available, and what tools are available they want, so that is good enough for me. I would hope that something is worked out that more than one person has access to the account. Not that anyone would deliberately cause problems, but issues in our lives do arise, so I hope atleast 2 or 3 trusted members would have the account details and be able to access the files etc. If one leaves or is not regularly active, then add another person ASAP, so there are always several people with the access.
I have the fullest confidence in Rocky, Jurgen and whoever else they feel has the time, talents and willingness to help out.

I presume you infer the  tags, since [.img][./img] without the dots in front of it gives you . As for how you use them, you simply click on the little button up there, and insert URL of the image in the middle. It can be on your server, or the server here, or an image serving server elsewhere, such as photobucket. Which allows you to upload images, select those you want, click a button and it cuts code for whatever application you desire, including thumbnailed images for forum use. |

If you use the [img] tags you need to upload it to any server and link to it. If you use the attachment you should be just fine... guess it work for you anyways...  |

I gave SP access to the server last night so he could look things over and understand why I might want to go with Bluehost, and to follow are his comments Ken... son-of-a-***** that is nice, for only $8/month?
I had heard of fantasico. It is nice they give you full control of ftp, shell, php config, pear modules, everything. I went with my own server box to get that since my last one didn't offer any of that.
I'm not saying others don't offer competent and affordable packages, I just know what Bluehost offers and C-Panel options, you got too scroll a looooooong way down the page to find the end of them! |

Jurgen, I guess it is time you took the big leap and joined the rest of the world and quit using netscape.......... just joking........ I know you are a die hard, I just don't really understand why....guess that is what makes the world go around, we all can have our opinions and free to do as we please.........within reason.
